How to access "GC Life", Global Citizen's 3D Virtual World dedicated to language training

1. Get a headset with a microphone, a recent computer with MS Windows (mimimum technical requirements)
2. Download the GC Life Viewer for Windows (51.6 MB) and install it.
3. Login information: login name: global citizen, password: password (first name: global, last name: citizen, password: password) or apply for your own login.
   

That's it. Enjoy.

Experiencing problems?

1. Cannot log in?

Make sure that the grid "global_citizen_life" is selected. If it's not in the list of grids, click on the "Grid Manager" button and create it:

• Grid nick (unique): global_citizen_life
• Grid name: Global Citizen Life
• Login URI: http://3d.global-citizen.biz:8888

2. You were logged in, but got "kick out"?

If you were using the test login above (login name: global citizen) and someone else logged in a few minutes later with the same login, then s/he kicked you out! Apply for your own login to avoid that.

3. Problems with the sounds?

Your avatar should have a white dot on the top of its head. This means that it is voice enabled. In order to talk, click on the "Talk" button (bottom-right corner of the Viewer). If you still have problems to talk, go to "Edit" menu then "Preferences" (or simply CTRL+P), click on the "Voice" tab and make sure that "Enable voice chat" is ticked on. Click on the "Reconnect to Voice" button. If it still doesn't work, you might be using an older version of MS Windows. Contact us as indicated below.

Please note that voice is not supported yet on Mac and Linux platforms.
